Things to consider when writing a post.

1. Consider your audience

What you write must interest your audience.  So who are they and what are they interested in?

2. A picture is worth a thousand words

So include a relevant picture or two.  But be sure they are royalty free pictures.

3. Give them something they can use

Write something that will be of benefit to your audience.

4. Keep it simple

You are not writing your doctoral thesis.  Keep it simple and to the point.  Remember who your audience is and speak to them.

5. Make it interactive

You want to encourage comments to your posts.  And when you get one, comment on the comment.  Start a dialog.
